The Winter “Slow” Time in Real Estate May Not Be So Slow After All
Winter is usually a slow time in real estate. No one wants to be out and looking at homes, let alone moving, in the cold. However, this year looks to be like none before and is predicted to be one of the best winter sales years ever.
While the pandemic did throw a curveball at the market, it gave people a lot of time in their homes and to work on projects they had put aside. About now they are ready to get their house on the real estate market to move after the holidays. On top of this, mortgage interest rates and sparse housing inventory are low.
The pandemic has been seen as negative by most people, but with working and schooling from home becoming the norm, people are wanting more space. This oftentimes means moving to a bigger home. Also working from home allows people to reconsider where they live. If they don’t have to make the commute to the office, they can move out a little further.
